H&K was founded in 1935 by Heinz Hartmann and Theodore Keppler as a furniture manufacturing company. In 1952, under the guidance of Gunther Hartmann, son of Heinz, the firm entered the local and international markets.
The third Hartmann generation, Reinhard and Robert took over the reigns as the owners in 1996. Hartmann and Keppler have continued to service both the local and global markets by creating unique furniture, proudly manufactured in South Africa.
